The project aims to promote the cultural and socio-economic integration of Ukrainian civilians into Latvian society by providing cultural orientation courses and various integration measures. The activities offered in the project will give Ukrainian civilians versatile opportunities to get to know the local community, acquire knowledge about Latvia’s history, culture, and values, understand state administration and the importance of the rule of law, familiarize themselves with the Constitution, as well as acquire knowledge about starting a business in Latvia, participating in the activities of local communities, promoting collaboration, etc. During the project, the \u201cLive in Latvia\u201d associations manual which was published in June 2024 in Latvian and Ukrainian languages, will be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four thematic camps will be held in the course of the project for various target groups of Ukrainian civilians in cooperation with community activists in different regions of Latvia, The aims of the camps will be related to improving communication and contact, strengthening intercultural dialogue, as well as to create a deeper, practical experience-based understanding of European values \u200b\u200band lifestyle, mutual social responsibility in communities, community cultures as an important part of guaranteeing emotional and physical security of individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Special attention will be paid to business development outside of Riga, as it is more difficult for Ukrainian civilians outside of Riga to access information in person and to exchange information. The fact that there is an open LEADER program whose resources are currently available for developing such ideas will be taken into account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chosen locations of the project will promote the integration of Ukrainian civilians not only at the level of national cities but also at the level of rural regions. As part of the project, it is planned to continue the work of the NGO information point with the provision of individual consultations in person both at the Riga Ukrainian Civilian Support Center and at various events intended for the target group. The information point is an essential resource both for gathering information about the needs of Ukrainian civilians and for providing informational support about the availability of various services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project implementation period is from July to November 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The joint financing of the project is EUR 57,622.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
