With the support of UNHCR we are implementing a project with the aim of promoting the protection of the rights of beneficiaries of international protection in Latvia. The project consists of four closely linked activities:
(1) protection monitoring to gather quantitative and qualitative data on the situation of Ukrainian refugees in Latvia and border and asylum seeker reception monitoring to support the authorities with enhancement of protection-sensitive border management and safe, accessible and transparent border crossing procedures;
(2) monitoring of legislation and information to keep track of the availability and quality of services for beneficiaries of international protection, including refugee children and especially those who arrive in Latvia unaccompanied by adults;
(3) individual integration support through provision of social mentor services to beneficiaries of international protection on return to Latvia and/or after the expiration of state-funded support mechanisms, if support is still needed;
(4) integration of beneficiaries of international protection into the host community.
Project period: January 2026 – December 2026.
The total project funding is EUR 92 270,00 EUR
